ART IS LIKE COOKING, YOU HAVE TO BE CREATIVE! //

Alessandro Cogotti

The fascination of art already caught me early in my childhood: At an early age I was inspired by my godfather Sestilio Rubiu, who himself was a painter and carpenter in Torino, Northern Italy, and who had a close collaboration with the artist Pietro Cassina.

At the age of 14, I decided to follow my other great passion: to train as a chef in Costa Smeralda. At the age of 18 I took the big step: I left my well-protected home nest to move to Germany.

“One heart, two passions”

Here I was allowed to refine my culinary skills and to shape my career path in a highly professional environment: renowned kitchens, including those of the Breidenbacher Hof in Düsseldorf, Schloss Fuschl in Austria, Grand Hotel Schloss Bensberg and Seehotel Überfahrt became my new homes and finally allowed me to work as a headchef. To this day I continue to work as a private chef all over the world – but the great desire for artistically creative work has never left me.

I was especially inspired by my very good friend and extraordinary artist Markus Tollmann, a fomer student of this father Günter Tollmann, Joseph Beuys and Pablo Picasso.

In my studio in Essen as well as at home, I am able to live my culinary and artistic passions full of verve and passion, and I am very happy to share my art with you here.

Benvenuti and welcome!
